Default 05 PSM STI/Prodrive

I have had my car for a while now an have decided to start a journal.....

I have been a long time fan of Subaru's watching WRC when ever possible on speedvision back in the day. I had a couple other cars but bought my first new car in 99 a brand new Civic Si. I still have the Si it has been a great car with over 170K and still runs great. Shortly after buying the Si the Subaru 2.5 RS released and I had wished that I waited but that is all in the past.

My search for a STI had been on going since 99. I had looked at a couple here and there and most looked pretty beat up or had more miles than what I wanted. Then one day in September of 07 I was going to work and saw a 05 PSM STI sitting at a dealership. I pulled in to take a look and saw that it only has 15K on it. The car was bone stock and the body was perfect there was not even a rock chip on the bumper. I went the next day to take a look at it and drive it and I knew this was the one. I quickly grabbed it before it disappeared.

Here is a pic of my civic......all Mugen parts and Volk TE-37's

Here is my STI right shortly after I got her.

I quickly began researching about what I could do to the STI. I knew that I would need some winter tires for winter and wanted to protect the paint from the rocks and other road derbies so I purchased a set of Rally Armor Flaps and a set of ASA rims with Dunlop Winter Sport 3D's. While doing my searching I came across Prodrive. With my civic I had done almost all Mugen stuff and like Prodrive is more money but fit an finish is always top notch. I decided that I wanted to do a Prodrive exhaust and eventually go stage 2. December of 07 Prodrive announced that they were pulling out of the US. I told my wife this and that I was not sure how hard it would be to get Prodrive parts once they left. I had a list of parts that I had wanted which included DP, Axle back, RB320 suspension and then a bunch of little things like floor mats, shift knob etc. To my surprise Christmas was awesome that year!!!! I got the Prodrive axelback, Prodrive lowering springs, Prodrive mats, **** knob, valve stem caps and a Cobb Access Port . The parts all went on and I flashed stage one.......I was hooked! The Prodrive DP was almost non existent and the ones I found were priced crazy. My wife had said that the RB320 suspension was not in stock when she was ordering but they had the springs so I will deal with the springs for now. I started searching for DP's again and came across the Maddad V2 Catted. I wanted to stay with a cat so this fit the bill. I ordered that up and was stage 2 by May of 08. I found the Prodrive diff guard and picked that up as well.

I had a couple sets of Recaro seats sitting around from when my civic was sponsored by Recaro I had a set for sale on IWSTI and someone contacted me about trading for a set of Advan RS's so I got a set of Advans...

I took the Advans in this week to have the old tires taken off and then have the paint stripped off the wheels. They should be going to the powder coating place next week for their new color.

Then they will be wrapped in brand new RE-01R rubber. And I picked up another set of RE-01R's for the stock BBS wheels as well.
