Wink The MiG- Short snow drift video with 9:1 q-rack post #279

Hi name is Akshay, other user id's on forums can be STiNG (preffered) and AWDMIG. 28yrs old, East Indian living in Ontario, Canada. Here is my 2005 STi.

MiG is the name of russian airforce fighter planes (also made in India ) and are great with acrobatic manuvers and I ended up with the name for my car because its only purpose is to handle like nobody's business and be streetable. i track it for fun, dont care to compete.

I should have done this years ago but now is better than never. I grew up watching vhs tapes sent from family in UK of WRC. I knew right then when I was little I wanted a subaru out of all the cars flying.

In 2006 I purchased my 2005 STi in CGM with almost 8000miles. I bought it sight unseen. I was not new to Subaru at all just never owned one on my own before.

Mods:

Hey guys, not new to Subies or this forum, bust mostly a lurker.
I have a 05 sti which was CGM but then I painted it dark grey about a yr ago.
Its daily driven, always been a rolling test bed of parts from WL, RCE, q-rack and local ontario rally shops like NV Auto. Apart from spending my own money i will happily spend urs...:single ****:

Haha first reply! The paint turned out great. Can you remove the amber from your headlights or is that a no-no in Canada? Your car gets a huge from me.

Yeah I figured mucking up your journal with my car would get konfoosing

Thanks man, the reflective cant be removed in USA or Canada

I hate the orange in the headlights so I am thinking of opening them up removing the reflective on the the side and putting something reflective maybe a tape in silver or grey or something to keep the safety aspect.

For the indicator part I am gonna get the chrome bulbs that glow orange when powered.

Also the canadian STi came without HID's so I will do the TSX or S2k projectors or FX35/45

So I found some quirks after we put the car back together from the paint job (we had it apart in as many peices as possible...the wing was in 8 peices for eg. All interior trim was off, doors were removed, for a proper paint job.

We didnt get the front passenger & trunk cylinder on properly.

Passenger door doesnt open from outside but does from inside and closes/seals properly.

Trunk releases from escape latch and inside the car, not from the key.

The end caps at the back of the side skirts r missing.

Going to fix this all tomorrow
