Well, that's good it works -- but just because it works, doesn't mean it's the "best practice" -- but, hey, it's your build ;-) I used gaskets on each side of my 8mm spacer ... you don't. Whatever works I guess. Lots of people do stupid things to their cars :P (I'm just teasing you now ... I just always error on the "conservative" side ... not a wild crazy man like you).

Im also not using a gasket for my throttlebody, noone makes a 70mm gasket for a subaru so I use gasket sealer there and no worries.

thats exactly why i used new gaskets....i didnt want to risk having to pull it all apart again for some stupid gaskets failing to do their job. like yall can see in the pix, mine were pretty f#cked.

so i was taking my dp off today and i found the cause of the shift knocking.....hhhhhh....my dumb a$$ didnt put the rear two bolts back through the tranny cross member. the bolts were there, holding the bushing...to the other bushing. hhhh oh well, all fixed. im finally going to be getting my wideband bung welded tomorrow, a year and a half after getting it.

i tried that, even using vice grips to try and pry the shield apart while the screw driver was wedged in there. oh well, thats the least of my worries.

i wanted to just walk out and say thx for nothing. i asked if he could make it cleaner, grind it down or do something and i got "well i cant grind it down, what difference does it make?" WHAT?!?!? are you serious?!? to answer your question, i gave him $15 cuz i'm not that type of person to be THAT rude. i guess it would work but i have a friend thats gonna hook me up and do it again the right way.

it may look ****ty but put your pinky in and feel around for any sugaring on the inside, if nothing found and it doesn't leak you'll be good to go

also any reason why you wanted to put it in the dp and not a few inches from cyl 4, although after that weld job that decision may be a blessing
