the older years have a metal gasket and can be reused.

I think you chose the hardest way ever to remove your manifold. You dont have to do anything with your p/s pump or a/c and you should have left the entire wiring harness on the motor. Its also easier to do it with the car on the ground and not on jackstands.

lol me being so tall it worked out better on my back, but only until i started to deal with the parts back by the throttle body. ughhhh so i did alot of pointless sh!t?? man, the driver side was a pita cuz i was either hitting the i/c piping or the a/c line. i really appreciate all your help via phone though man. you'll probably hear from me again when trying to reinstall it

i only flipped the p/s as per the online instructions and the alt. as for the gaskets, they felt like a type of metal/compound of some sort but alot of the material is on the heads or tgv housing. im probly going to get a new set tomorrow to ease my mind about it.

typical, that way they can charge you for a million hours of labor on something that takes 2 hours.

how do you do it? just unclip all the whole wire harness then the bolts for the manifold? i was kind of curious why the ps pump needed to be flipped. i was thinking maybe just pull the ps lines off the bracket. 10hrs * $80/hr = $800 labor!!! this is why i wanted the experience and the feeling good of working on my own car

do you have some fine grit sand paper that i can stop by and use to get the old gasket crum off the housings? do you still have the bov recirc plug?

lol i was gonna hit you up tomorrow...i got everything back on today. i tried putting the tgv's on first then the manifold, wouldnt work due to the routing of the fuel rail lines. so i put the whole assembly together and got it in.

i broke a vacuum line step-down connector right behind the ps pump errr. o well i have to get a brake booster hose cuz the fmic ripped it. i get those both replaced and *cough* your plug, josh, and it should be ready to go.

im gonna go ahead a flush the whole coolant system too then fill it and see how it goes.

kstech's instructions said nothing about what to do with the old tgv motors.... just leave them off and leave the connectors chillin??
