IWSTI Addict since: Jul 2007 | Hi there, my name is Ja'afar (kinda weird 4 u !!) and i live in Jordan in the middle east... i wanted to share with you my experience with my subie and what does it feel like to have an sti here...... sooo this is my story: i am 21 years old so i was stuck with an e-class merc and a Nissan murano since i was 18... and that was the last day 4 the murano !! then came the STI the subie that i bought was second hand(had 17000KM on it) and it was pretty much standard just had the hks TBE, hks turbo timer, hks bov and k&n Typhon intake on it.... so i bought some toys 4 it like: a replica front lip another pic 4 the lip and my friends in the uni.. BTW the license plate delete is forbidden here perrin wing stiffies (dont mind the motec emblem, i dont hv one !!) hks evc 6 DBA slotted rotors (5000&4000) BTW this is the engine bay this is the garage where the subie gets tuned and repaired its called Red Line and here's some of the cars there... thats the new red line workshop thats my bro car, he hates subies this is when we hosted one of the wrc stages ! subie ftw !! now i have drove the car for 4 months or soo, then disaster came the car was eating tons of oil and there was white smoke in the exhaust.... and we did a compression test and the results were horrible ....u all know wut this means.... we took th engine apart and found this: broken ring lands this happened because of knocking and detonation and those happened because there were no tune or what so ever on the ecu of the car..... here in jordan we have no dyno or anyone who can tune the ecu of the car.... the only solution is to buy an hks EM from the dealer here (of course this is the only brand that we have in jordan) or call someone from Dubai to come and install a motec for u.... and that will coast you around 5000$ and imagine if you have a new part and you want your EM to get tuned for it !! and still there is many guys here that get there engine blown because of this stuff and no body gives a dam about it, and i know many people who have got there engine blown here..... so i have decided to build my engine and bought the following parts from the U.S ASAP (thx to josh at import image )check the pic's cosworth forged pistons cosworth rods ACL racing bearings and some other stuff like the tgv delets, perrin crank pulley, and LC-1+ walbro for the tuning and here is the motor build pic's... the crank and rods after being checked and cleaned this is my friend Omar, one of the best specialist in subies here in jordan ! that was the first day of the build-up completed bought the agency pitch stop (the stock was broken ) my friend (waleed) here doing the break in of the engine afterwards i got the AEM CAI in the car (dont mind the AEM emblem above ! I've put it before i got the CAI installed !) And thats my story Folks !!! your comments are appreciated .Last edited by z38er; 09-13-2008 at 03:56 AM.. |

I would've just bought a new engine and left it stock. With The new engine I doubt you'll be making any more power than before. |
