| Spec C Club Feedback Score: 4 reviews | Just got 2 quick pictures from my mechanic. I'C Pipes are almost Done. a few more minor tweaks and we should be ready to go. We will be cleaning up a few things before they are clamped in for good, but thats a general idea about how the piping will be run. Pretty simple. Time to clean up my enginebay and get the car running! Last edited by GJM; 08-03-2008 at 10:10 PM.. |

| Spec C Club Feedback Score: 4 reviews | OK, so i kinda lied in my thread title but the car runs and will be tuned on thursday for low boost. Only missing a few things: -Larger Crank Case Breather Hose (picking one up tomorrow) -Assorted T-Fittings (for breather and boost controller/boost gauge) -New SS Oil Feed Line (Wanted to make it a little longer) -Heat-shielding for Passenger Side Grommet and Transmission Harness All these items will be purchased and installed tomorrow and thursday before the tune. Cant wait! ****Note**** When the motor comes out in the winter, the entire firewall will be covered in gold heat shield foil, the intake, intercooler pipes, turbo, downpipe, dump tubes, and alternator will be heatcoated black to match the intake manifold by the awsome guys at grimmspeed. | Spec C Club Feedback Score: 4 reviews | 9/20/2008 So i picked up the car after tuning on thursday and let me say that this thing is a complete animal. Its tuned at 16psi for a breakin, and spins the tires all the way through 1st gear. Its great. Right now i'm seeling 16psi at around 3000rpm's so its not bad for a turbo that is almost the size of a 35r w/ a large exhaust side. Driving the car for the last few days, i noticed today that there was a little puddle of oil under my passanger fender liner. After some inspection i realized that it was dripping out of my cold air intake. After speaking to Dave at MSPT i pulled off the intake to find oil everhwere in the compressor side and intake, and a decent amount of shaft play. Fins were touching the compressor housing. Needless to say, the turbo is done. Car will be going back to the shop monday to pull the turbo and see whats up. I'll also be doing a compression and leakdown test just to be safe, and i will go from there. I'm going to try to get the turbo warentied (only 150 miles on it). If not i'll be picking up a Percision 35r w/ anti surge and either a .78 twinscroll hotside or a 1.06 if i can find it. Last edited by GJM; 09-29-2008 at 09:28 PM.. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2004 | Did a shop install the turbo? It sounds like it wasn't primed correctly and it ran dry for a few seconds...not good. Hope you get it covered under warrantee. |

I hope they cover it under warrantee as well. Turbo has no more then 100 miles on it since it was installed so there shouldn't be problems like this. After speaking to my tuner, and shop, best guess right now is that it was a defect from the factory, and the oil is just going right through the seal, or the cartraige was not able to hold the 80-100psi going into the turbo and it blew through the seal. Regardless of what went down, i know that the shop installed, and prepped the turbo properly for startup and the tune was done at 15psi for a break in after my tuner drove the car for about 50 miles under no boost just to make sure everything was ok and there were no issues. As i mentioned before, i had the oil feed and return made based off the specs given to me by BW. Which were, -4 inlet, -10 return, and no restrictor. If there was too much, too little, or the pressure was too high, it happend based on the specs i was given by the manufacturer. I'll update on monday when i get a chance tos peak to them. -Greg | |

| Spec C Club Feedback Score: 4 reviews | As for what's next. Off the top of my head... 1) Get the issue w/ the turbo solved and either have it replaced with the same turbo, or order a percision 35r w/ anti-surge ports and a .78 ar twinscroll hotside. 2) Install the APR CF Front lip that is sitting at FIZZ waiting for my car to get out of the shop. 3) Have my window tints redone in 50% instead of 35% 4) Pay some bills and start the new year w/ a clean slate (no cc's, etc) |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2005 | ^Tough luck man. Especially since you had a taste of the good stuff, and now you're back to waiting for answers and parts again. Good luck with it - sounds like the end is just around the corner. |
