| Spec C Club Feedback Score: 0 reviews | I had put the coolant hose's clamp that connects to the upper radiator fill reservoir to the piping under the manifold on the edge of the pipe on accident. Needless to say it ripped last night at some point. My coolant temps were edging into the 200's but the fans would kick on and bring em back down. There was still coolant in the main radiator. I did fix the atmospheric pressure sensor. It is located in the valve that attaches to the back of the head and has piping that goes to the air pump. I had enough room to ziptie that valve (with its air opening pointed down) near my catch cans. Fixed the MAP sensor issue. Now it is just time tonight to fix that one coolant hose, bleed the air out of the power steering and charge the AC. I have WOT fueling dialed in and latency for trims is close. Need to fine tune it though as I have all new piping, TGV deletes, new injectors, an intake that was scaled for a stock engine, etc. Man I love how that turbo spools even at WG boost. By 3k rpm it is at full boost (8-9 PSI) and pulls pretty good. |

| Spec C Club Feedback Score: 0 reviews | Update: 500 miles on engine. Pulls good vacuum although I have a leak at the intake manifold to head junction that is throwing fueling off a bit (re-used the lower manifold gaskets on the second rebuild as I was shipped the wrong gaskets; I have yet to install the new ones). Doesn't burn any oil. |

| Spec C Club Feedback Score: 0 reviews | Thanks. I am very happy that the pistons fit the bores well and I did a good job on the end gap (I was worried that it was too large). 500 miles, waivers between 18-20 inches of vacuum (because of the leak) and not burning any oil. We will see how long it lasts. FWIW, I have seen (and tuned) two low mileage bored over and built 2.5L blocks. It may have been the builder (or pistons he chose), but on their catch can setups, there was oil in the lines. Hopefully once it is tuned to full power, I will be just as happy. |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2007 | Glad to see everything is working out (for the most part). You going to dyno it or road tune? |

| Spec C Club Feedback Score: 0 reviews | I had an epiphany today. Hopefully, adding this gasket that is still in my gasket set to my airpump blockoff plate should fix the car right up. How did I remember? Well, first of all, nothing was making sense. A boost leak at the intake manifold would cause boost to fall off, period. It isn't falling off. Add to that when i step on the gas the AFRs go lean (16:1) for a second then richen up. Mostly this is with small inputs to the throttle. Tip in enrichment could not explain this as when I jump on it, the AFRs shoot right down. Also, idling with the AC off was giving me postive fuel trims? WTF? AC on gets negative fuel trims? WTH? Ok, so I was thinking maybe something to do with the airpump delete. Then I found it. A picture of the gasket I was supposed to use. DOH! This explains the lean spiking and the wavering AFRs. We'll see if adding it fixes the issue (I bet it does). So much easier than having to take off the manifold. |

IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2004 | Thanks for sharing your experiences with us, I read through this thread and the one on Romraider. Glad to see you figured everything out. Air leaks can be such a pain with our car's and there fueling. I am gathering things for my own engine build, figure it's due time with almost 100k on the clock. I plan on using coated Cp's as well. I'm assuming you went with the 99.5mm pistons? Do you know what piston to wall clearances you ended up with? Did you hone the block yourself? |
