It is not a big deal to me. I have done both MAF and MAP on these guys and it doesn't seem to be a problem. If I have any trouble running MAF, I can easily make a circuit delay (or switch that turns on the failsafe as well) on power up for the controller hooked to the IGN wire.

I'll prolly run MAP based at first anyway as I am contemplating Labonte's full featured display and integrated controller instead of buying just a gauge. In any case, meth and boost will not be on until I put 3k more miles on her (at WG boost) and 3 oil changes.
So I can indeed run it solely off the MAP right? That's what I want to do anyways. So if I run this thing off the MAP, I won't have the start-up spray issue?

Yep, you can run it off of either (there is a switch on the controller and an input for the MAF wire as well as a pressure signal input). If you run MAP, you won't have the startup spray issue. I'll be doing MAP at first as I only have a relay for my failsafe.

I don't get why people complain about such a small issue. So they did not build a startup delay into the box, who cares? The kit was only 380 bucks, hell I got alot of stuff for that. A sureflo pump, all the wiring, a good controller, good tubing, two nozzles, a tap and other odds and ends to complete a basic install. It is also compatible with other sureflo based controllers. I think most people just want a plug and go solution. I am one of few people who made my own portable WBO2 out of an LC1, so I like modular stuff.

Tess seems to think we can finish tomorrow. We will see if we hit that lofty goal. Maybe, we took a ton of breaks today and drank about 8 beers each (at least). I'd say that was good progress.

On with the pics!

Starting out (1:30PM)

Progress

In the garage

Our saving grace in 100 degree heat

Stay hydrated.

Went in smooth

This thing sucks hard

Done for tonight, car is living in the garage now (11:30PM)

Well we started around 2PM:

6PM time to go pick up our child from grandma's:

Started around 8:30PM and done at around midnight:

Tomorrow it is time to fill it with coolant (oil is filled), solder a couple connectors on the LC1 (new gauge setup), and start the car.

They say a picture speaks a thousand words. Well a video says it better.

A big thanks to my wife (Tess) who built this motor with me. Without her I would have screwed up on a couple things.
