| Junior STI Driver Feedback Score: 1 reviews | The car was bought used by me on 2/2/07 with 17,967 miles. I have been a member for almost a year so I thought it would be nice to FINALLY start a journal. The past: Well... it all started when I was really into watching WRC on Speed channel. I was a big fan of both the Imprezas and the Peugeots. However due to the fact that it was not going to be possible to get a hold of a nice 206 or 207 I only had one choice. The STi.....and that was fine by me!! I was in Tech College when they first came out so there was NO way I could afford one then. So in 2005 I purchased a nice used 1999 Cobra. Car turned out to be pretty abused by previous owners so long story short I dropped a new longblock 4.6 DOHC in it and kept it for another year or so after that but it was basically a liability. Especially in the winter when it snowed. (Not fun driving RWD with 10.5" wide rears in the snow!!!!) Here's a pic... So, long story short I decided to get rid of the Cobra and get something more practical. After a couple weeks of searching I happened to find an STi on ebay that was at a dealership about 15 miles from me. I e-mailed the sales manager and told him that I would be out to look at it the next day. When I got to the dealership, it was as clean as I had hoped. Low miles, non DD, garage kept, and was traded in by one of THEIR techs for a 07 Limited that had come in on trade. I immediately went to talk to this tech. He was a nice guy and had been religious with his maintenance. When he gave me the records he kept and I almost . He even went so far as to write down every tank of gas he ever put in it. So, soon after that I was off to test drive the car and shortly after that I was in the finance office signing papers. The Present: I have enjoyed owning the car for the past year and being a member of IWSTI. I had to learn the quirks of a turbo car (my first). How to drive the thing without beating the out of my passengers and looking like an overall idiot. I have had the infamous strut clunk, the miraculous disapearence of Mobil 1 from my oil pan, (fine with German Castrol now!!!) and all the other completely "normal" noises that I have come to accept.... But overall I must say that I have thoughly enjoyed every minute of it!!! I get to DD a car that is a blast, have fun in every kind of weather, and drive one of the safest cars on the road.....what's NOT to like about that. The Future: Well, I purchased an AP V1 in early December and at this point I am planning on getting a DP or full TBE in the coming months. Going to keep the car pretty stock at this point but might do some exterior mods this summer such as removing the pillar in the front grill, window tint, Perrin front plate delete, etc. Would also like to go wingless at some point but I plan on keeping the stock trunk/wing assembly and just buying an entirely new trunk so I can swap them out at my discretion!! I have also been tempted to get a RVS that I can paint to match and install. Just haven't had the balls to wanna drill holes in MY own car. Other than that I'm gonna try and find a nice used beater this summer as well so I can keep the mileage down. Yay tax rebates!!! Mods: AKA The short list... Intake Silencer Delete Debaged Rear Invidia V2 DP AP V1 Stage 2 Rally Armor Classics Future Mods: AKA the infinite list... Angel eyes kit Catback exhaust (to be determined) RS trunk Limited spoiler etc etc...lol That about wraps it up for now. Feel free to look at the pics posted below or leave some comments. Thanks guys!! Last edited by Kevin; 07-24-2008 at 04:22 PM.. |

| Junior STI Driver Feedback Score: 1 reviews | Couple of pics of my 1972 Mustang Coupe. It was my grandfathers and he gave it to me when I turned 18 (No joke). It's just a plain old couple, 302 V8, 3 speed automatic, AC. I used to show it a lot when I was younger but it's just been sitting in storage for the past year or two. Just think of an 18 year old driving this around....I pulled massive amounts of , hence the name, and yes....I got pulled over a LOT!!! | Junior STI Driver Feedback Score: 1 reviews | I finally went Stage 2. Got the Invidia V2 Dp in on Friday and bolted it up right after work. It is mated to the stock catback for the time being. This summer I'll pick up a nice catback so it's 3'' all the way back. All and all it's enough to keep me happy for a couple months. Have some other projects planned in the meantime. (look at future mods list to see!!) I would value any opinions on an aftermarket catback from anyone kind enough to post. I am looking for a quiet 3'' exhaust and one that bolts up to the Invidia DP without adapters/modifications. Last edited by STiAholic05; 05-15-2008 at 06:48 PM.. |
