Default CenCali07STI ***Cusco parts***

Well I should have started this journal from the day I bought it which was February 20th 2007 but since I am such a stingy person with cash as you will see in the time to come in this thread I figured I would wait a while until I was ready to spend a little. It will still take a bit of time to get alot of my plans going but I plan on keeping you guys updated and keeping my updates as interesting as possible. I am a union sheetmetal worker by trade so I plan on trying to take advantage of some of my skills and materials and machines I have readily available to me in order to make some things my own rather than purchasing everything aftermarket. So here it goes. Hope you enjoy the times to come reading this.

Brandon

Well a little update of my in progress exhaust build. Some of you may have seen the thread I started already in the forum but I figured it would be a good idea to throw the build into my journal too. I am building a complete TBE all myself including the muffler. I just recently recieved the flanges for the downpipe from the laser cutter so now all I need is to get my elbows and straight sections of pipe to begin building it. I was actually hoping to get started on it this weekend but I worked some overtime friday so by the time I got off work all the piping stores were closed and they are not open on weekends. I should be purchasing those parts this week and starting on it next weekend. Here are a few teaser pics of what I have so far.

These are the flanges for the DP. I found several of these available for purchase online but they were all mild steel and if I wanted stainless they were going to cost much more so I was able to get some 3/8" 304 stainless plate from my work and then I layed out where I wanted the holes and took that paper and the factory downpipe to the laser shop and he made it exactly to what I wanted. I am very happy with the results. The main thing that I see is different from my flanges VS other manufactured ones is that my wastegate hole is much closer to the turbine outlet. The reason for this is I move my hole directly over center of the wastegate flapper. it will make building it with the divorced piece seperating the two outlets to make it truely divorced more difficult but I already have the idea in mind of what I am going to do. I had two made for the time being just in case I mess one up.

The rest of these parts are pretty self explanatory. If you have any questions just ask.

haha the one vital question I did not answer yes it iwll be 3" all the way. Its obviously going to taper out from the DP flage to 3" first though but that wil just be a very small section. Yeah there will be one cat its in the pics. Some people thought it was a resonator but its a magnaflow Metalic Substrate Cat just like other companies claim to have on their DP.

Yeah I love the color its actually Satin white pearl. Funny story was I test drove a black one and afterwards the lady was like well want to see numbers. And I said NOPE unless you have a white with gold rims then I am on my way out. She said give me five minutes so I waited curious and she rolled around my car still wrapped in plastic and said ok how about now lol.
