cause I like non-typical gadgets... also since there is an element of logging here. it would be nice to be able to data dump a single source for data. ie jump out take 8 readings (logged) and jump in. | |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2005 | Oil temp sender found: http://www.egauges.com/vdo_indS.asp?...0F_US&PN=R8958 $15 M18x1.5 thread (this is correct for a galley plug right...if not they have a bunch of other sizes...and adapters) operates from 33-240 Ohms can read 140-320F Using a voltage divider with a 100 Ohm resistor I can get a reading from 1.241 to 3.529 Volts. This means I can get about 468 discrete steps between 140 and 320F or much more than 1 degree F of precision, which is about what we need. W00t for long, boring teleconferences. |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2005 | I contacted autometer, cyberdyne and issopro and got responses either directing me to contact someone else or with charts showing the resistance to temperature relationships. rock! |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2005 | progress: -improved spacing on the reading/peak readouts -blink/beep to warn implemented. Right now the whole screen blinks, which is annoying and epilleptic. I need to make this better. (what about if on peak an LED flashed instead??) -turn on in oil temp mode and once warm switch to next mode in line (and possibly beep) has also been implemented. -also good news. I updated to the new version of the IDE and flash software and it saved 2k of code space on the chip! (means we can cram more features on it )Last edited by sti robot; 06-22-2007 at 03:05 PM.. |

| Platinum Member Feedback Score: 14 reviews | i wish i knew how to do all this. i was good at programming my TI-85 back in the day. I even had it show me intermediate steps in long formulas, so I could show my "work" on tests. |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2005 | This thing is easier than that....its basically a limited bit of C code. |
