IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2003 | I am looking for a new battery for my 04 STi. I still have the orignal Subaru battery and it finally died. I am running two amps, one for a sub and one for my door speakers and I would like to be able to run the radio with the car turned off if I desire.. I dont do this much, but it is a nice feature to me sometimes. I was thinking of going with an Optima Red Top battery, but it has a much lower reserve time than the deep cycle battery has. The only reason for going with an AGM battery is because I have poor luck with conventional batteries leaking and looking horrible in my engine bay. Now, these take a group 34 battery (or is it 35), but I was wondering if the D34-78 would cause any problems. Obviously I dont need the front terminals, but for whatever reason they sell these multi application batteries for about $50 cheaper than the correct size. Only diference I can see is about 1 inch in overall height. I dont think that would be an isse, even if it came down to a custom battery tie down. I am sure I could fab something up here on the CNC.. Has anyone ever fit one of these? Does anyone know where I could find a D34 for ~$130 does anyone have any other AGM reccomendations? I dont want to spend over $130 on a battery because really at that price I could already buy two of the best batteries they sell locally. I am just sick of leaking batteries and corroded terminals! |

| Lurker Feedback Score: 0 reviews | i wanted to avoid doing that, but it seems that the 34 positive terminal was about 2 inches shy of being able to connect to the cable, so i figured ill worry about the battery a little more after i relocate it to the trunk. much appreciated on the info tho... |
