Default 2006 STI prices/values are going higher...

I occasionally research the prices of 2006 STI's and Have noticed some very strong values and selling prices within the last 6 months. Compared to a year ago I noticed about a $3,000 increase in values and selling prices on everage, on various sites and publications. I havent looked at the other year GD's yet. I think the upcomming new generation STI and WRX comming out late this year early next year is the reason. The GD STI's(at least the 06) are looking like they are appreciating in value much like a collector car...so I'll say it. I think the GD's are going to cross the threshold into collectible car territory and become highly sought after....more so than they are now...once the new generation is in dealerships. Find the nice ones while they are still affordable....I think they bottomed out last year and are going UP in value.

I am biased because I have a swp, but most of the people I know think the swp is more sought after than the 06 aspen white. Maybe it's because it's the last year but idk. I rarely see a swp sti's and I see aspen white STis quite a bit more.

I agree with the appreciating value though. My car has 49k miles and here in Colorado kbb has it at around 30k private value.

its especially true about stock STI's that dont have anything more than a catback or wheel upgrades, those cars seem to REALLY be going for higher money than just a year ago; but I have noticed that even mildly modded typical stage 2 cars with a larger downpipe air intake and suspension mods are going higher as well.

06 Cars with over 100K miles are holding their own especially all stock examples that are well taken care of and have original paint, even those are selling for 18G's and up, and even ones with wear and tear and a clean history are 17 G's.

But I have seen recently that stockish low mile 06's are selling for 23-26 G's and some even higher.

lolol. Just checked KBB and my car in "very good" condition is worth $29,040. I bought it for $21,500 in 2010. WRB '05 with 25,700 mi. Funny, I've spent maybe 6-7k on the car and I could sell it for the price of a stock car and still turn a profit. WTF

That makes me seriously consider selling even though I love this car.
