I reality... he's right

Kelly Blue Book give a price for an EXCELLENT condition 06 STI w/ 27500 miles at a retail of $27,865.

I bought my used 06 STI from a dealer last year with 12,000-15,000 miles for $26,000.

And like you said... no one pays retail. Tell him that.

Good luck man.

My initial advice for you is to NOT drive the car hard at all - grandma it - until you find out what EM is on it.

I'd also try and find out if the dealer has the contact info for the previous owner, it wouldn't hurt to ask. Talking to the previous owner would probably answer a lot of questions.

I didn't read any other msg's ppl left but for 23,500 i wouldnt buy this car. I bought a clean 06 sti 27k mileage for 23,000. Plus does this car come with a cobb ap? or a good tune? i would check because i bet the stock map is still on there.

I would say do not BUY it until you check the engine management.

Either the dealer has flashed it back to stock, or it is running some form of EM. IF no AP is with the car, I assume UTEC, or even a hydra or an AEM (doubtful).

IF the dealer has flashed it back to stock, with those mods, I would NOT drive it.

As for the bit about the car being on the forums, I was suggesting YOU search here, NASIOC, I-club, etc for the car, or for the shop that built it in case it was not a self-built project.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that we do not know what is used for boost control, unless I forgot about reading that in the thread as well

Oh I forgot to ask, but did you ever get the leakdown and compression test done?

The biggest ?? here is the block. If it is the stock block, I would not buy it. Even if it is built you still have no idea who DID build the block or whether it was built right, how it was abused, whether it was broken in properly, and on and on and on.

Seriously dude, I really hope you do not borrow every dime you can afford just to buy a car that will then require a ??? thousand more just to be driveable.

Get a low mileage stock or stage 2 STI with a maintenance/ mod log, and go from there. Learn from those who have made the same mistake before!!

It all came back good! The dealer told me the car was tuned at Dynocomp located in Scottsdale, AZ! So i think it'll be all good!

It seems well modified, I'd ask for Compression/Leakdown before buying it.

Ok. Here's what I got! This car was a Dyno-Comp Tuner car. It was a custom, that was built by Richard T. Garcia, one of the founders of Dyno-Comp. Here's some links for proof.

With all of this being said. What do you guys think?!?
