Default paint chip: close door on unretracted seatbelt

Danger of an unretracted seatbelt and a valet garage:

Paint chip in door jam.

Q: Primer or touch up directly ?

Touch up paint is sufficient. I would apply 2 or 3 light coats with 5-10 minutes in between. I always do touch up work while I'm going other stuff on the car. Alternatively, you can go for the blot technique, but sometimes it ends up above the surface. It's fine with some colors though, like white for example.

After the touch up, if its uneven or bumpy and such, you could try to wet sand. but it is after all in the door jam.. no one will ever know.
