IWSTI Addict since: May 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | I personally really care about braking, besides performance, it gives me peace of mind, knowing i can stop very quickly in a emergency situation. That said, what mods do you guys think make the biggest difference in stopping distance, or pedal feeling? I specifically am interested in braking distances, and saftey, the stuff that really matters on the street, im NOT interested about things that reduce brake fade, which is more of a race track thing. Im going to include a little pole so i can get some survey results but posts hearing from you guys would be nice to I made it multiple choice so you guys could pick a few of your favorites, but PLEASE DONT PICK MORE THAN A FEW(2-3). IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2006 Trader Rating: (17) | First all say tires, weight reduction, pads, then lines, larger calipers, disks. In that order. IMO Lines give a more solid and predictable feeling overall. Pads, depending on which ones you go with will give you better bite. Of course the more weight reduced off the car the quicker it will stop. Larger calipers are an expensive alternative for a street car, our stock calipers are dam good as they are. Thats my $00.02 |

| Junior STI Driver | The only part of the car that is contact with the ground its the tires, and its the traction limit of the tires that determines stopping distances. /thread |

| S204 Racer | Well, your poll (not pole) and your post address 2 completely different questions. Poll: tires, by a mile. Post: pads, since that is what has the biggest effect on fade. |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2006 Trader Rating: (9) | Yea tires make a HUGE difference. but aside from that a big brake kit will make a huge difference. but with that big brake kit u'll need new pads, fluid, lines, and discs. Then weight is next. at least u know its not suspension LOL! |
