Uh, cleaning the pads and rotors and then applying a light coat of quick-drying brakequiet on the back of the pad or the shims is OK, but using "grease?" That's not something I'd recommend...

It's not hard to do, just follow these directions on how to remove the pads. Once you get them out clean them up with some brake cleaner and grease the sh*t out of them. That should clear up your problem

this is normal on high performance brakes, they will squeek at low speeds and dust like a mofo. Even porsche 911 gt3's with performance brakes will squeek.
All perfectly normal.

Sorry I don't know what's wrong with that link? Site issue maybe?

But as far as grease I just used that as a generalization. This is the stuff I was talking about. You can get it at any autoparts store.

yup

it only needs to go where parts contact.

The pistons strike the shim -

The edges of the backing plate ride in the caliper - (be careful here so it does not get on the friction surfaces)

And a tiny bit in the holes that the pins ride in.

It still can squeal - and squealing can come and go - but it can help.

Seems like lots of instances of new pads on old rotors that are poorly bedded as well.

my car is currently not squealing - but the weather just changed so it'll probably start soon.

Welcome to Brembo, I recently upgraded to Powerslor rotors / Hawk HPA pads and I applied anti squeal lubricant behind the pads and no more noise!

Well put. It's not a matter of what to do "if", but "when."

If your car is still under warranty- I would take it to the dealership and see if they can duplicate the problem and have them put the brake grease on for you- or fix the problem. If it's not under warranty- you can pull the pads out and put the grease on the back of your pads and shims yourself and that should take care of your problem. I just replaced my pads and I picked up some sqeak relief brake grease at the auto parts store for like 2 bucks. Here is a link if you want to buy it online. But any autoparts store carries the stuff- just different brands of it. I haven't had any sqeaking really to mention at all.
