Default Dissapointed after the 1/8 track

OK ive been reading some of the times ppl with similar mods have been getting and i am nowhere near their times.

i have WRB 06 with intake, exhaust and tune, got 316whp 324wtq, stock sti's dyno at 240

I honestly think i should be hitting 8.3 EASILY but i should be closer to 8.1, well thats not the case. I had 3 good runs and still none could even reach 8.399. I know part of the problem is my 60' time and that will improve with more time at the track, even then i wont be happy with the end result.

ME ---------------------Stock STi
60': 1.914 -----------------60': 2.169 bogged launch
ET: 8.498 -----------------ET: 9.347
MPH: 80.7 ----------------MPH: 72.3

ME ----------------------C6 Vette
60': 1.819 -----------------60': 2.578
ET: 8.426 -----------------ET: 9.319
MPH: 82.1 ----------------MPH: 79.2

ME
60': 1.890
ET: 8.418
MPH: 82.8

Its pretty hot and very humid down here in south florida

My best run was my last run for the night. im not really sure what i would run in the 1/4, i have a little conversion table but im not sure how accurate it is, i was told its very accurate. 8.3 is 12.95... someone put in their sig they ran a 12.5 on Stage2 OTS map which is an 8.00 in the 1/8.

Apparently i cant even break into the 12's with protuned stage 2...

what do u guys think?

I would blame the weather. I don't know what the exact temp was but your mph seems low.

I was hitting 82-83mph in the 1/8th with a bone stock SRT-4. I would think you should be trapping much higher with over 300whp.

It completely depends on the dyno, there is no magic number that STi's will drop consistantly. I would blame the weather also. When I went to my 1/8th mile track when it was insanly hot my best run of the night was

60........1.898
330.......5.733
1/8.......8.865
mph......78.52

That was when I just had the stage 2 OTS map+intake no protune. The track was just to damn sticky. Bring a bag of ice next time and ice the intercooler for 10min between runs.

Could be the track you're going to. Check the elevation level if possible. but as I was looking at your trap mph, it is kinda low...

The only thing that comes to mind when I think of Miami is beaches, not mountain ranges. I would say a not much more than sea level.

+1 for the bag of ice on the intercooler thing. I ran at a local track last year and was very picky about icing the intercooler before my runs. I also added ice to the Sprayer tank in case it would help. I only ran twice and hit a 1.686 60' and was able to run a 8.173 at 84.70 mph. I was very satisfied.

I wouldnt blame the weather too much, I would blame the 60ft. A 1.9 60 ft is for lack of a better term...horrible. You should beable to cut 1.7s w/o a problem just by cutting that down 2 tenths you are going to see that correspond in a 2 tenths faster 1/8 mile time at the least, putting you more or less where you would like to be.

edit: wow super old thread!
