Default More stock turbo 1/4 mile results 12.36@110.87

Yesterday at Toronto Motorsports Park. Traction was a bit of a problem due to being only 40 degrees.

Totaly stock turbo IWG and not ported. on 50/50 meth with pump 94.

My race gas map that I used later in the day along with the meth did not go faster

Great work in the high humidity yesterday. It was gross out.

I had a feeling your daily driver tune would produce about the same results as the race tune at the strip. No matter how much we cranked the MBC the day we tuned it the car wouldn't hold more than 15 psi above 6500 rpm. The leaner afr and slightly increased timing on the race tune didn't seem to help much up top. It's just even more of a low/mid range monster on race gas.

At this point the best way to get more flow out of that turbo is an external wastegate setup. I didn't even touch your internal gate actuator arm because preloading it more will only make your low rpm boost even higher and that's not what the car needs. With an external gate and a quick retune for that I think we can get you in the 11's or at least right there on a daily driver tune for pump/meth.

What were your 60 foot times and eighth mile traps like?

Ya its weird with the race gas doing a street 2nd gear pull from around 3,000 rpm it seems that the car is lifting the front wheels off the ground
but like you say at 6500 its got nothing left.
An external wastegate seems to be the way to go .....but......most people here feel that that is no longer a stock turbo then.......I dont know??? it really seems that its all thats holding this thing back from the 11's.

on this pass 60 ft 1.74 . 1/8 mile was 7.886 the 1/8 mile trap the computer at the track didnt register in that lane but some of my better 1/8 mile traps yesterday were on a 12.411 pass the 1/8 was 87.40 and on a 12.415 pass it was 87.15

My 60 times were crap, I was dragging my foot on the clutch alot longer than normal so I know that that was hurting my 60 foot times alot. When I launched with a quick slip of the clutch I was getting huge wheel hop.....maybe I'll pump the air back up to 30lbs for the next visit to the track.

Thanks Mike for all your advice and masterfull tuning.

There was a couple there that were freinds and I could here them cheering at their buddys to kick my ass when they went against me ..............
none of the 2 cars were under 13 seconds so I felt bad for them.

Great Job! I think that if you want 11s, go ahead with an ewg as it doesn't really matter what some random online people say about the meaning of "stock" turbo. But, thats just my opinion. If I could achieve 11s on a my daily driving sti, I would do it in a heartbeat. But, after calculating the cost, and seeing if you even want to touch your amazing setup as it is, I just want to wish you good luck. Btw, did you post on nasioc? You are easily top 5 with your et.

Thanks Guys for the complements.

I am seriously considering the EWG thing a bit more today. especially if they allow it at the subie-fest and the evo/wrx shootout events that are run in the Penn. Ohio ares that I will be traveling to this summer.

I've never gone to Subiefest, but the Evo/WRX shootout in Ohio allows Subarus in the Evo/WRX class to run pretty much any turbo setup you want including rotated mount kits etc. so a stock turbo with external gate is WELL within their rules.

Sorry I meant the east coast subie shootout, in the stock turbo class.

Wow tha was a really good run. That mustang looked kinda scary when it pulled up being loud and obnoxious but when you pulled off the line I was laughing B/c it looked like a surprise to the mustang dude.

Congrats man. It's nice to see STis from Ontario running some good times. 110mph is nothing to sneeze at for a stock turbo 06. Nice run!

What did that Mustang run btw?
