Default Peer pressure is a B!%@#

Ran my car last wednesday night at the local drags and friends keeps telling me to post my times so here it is.

Power mods
Cobb AP stage II
TBE
CAI
Ebay mud flaps

1st run. Cold tranny and i was too excited. Blew my best 60' ever with a missed 3rd! Slowest run of the night

r/t = .314
60' = 1.638
330' = 5.207
1/8 = 8.237
mph = 82.371
1000' = 10.789
1/4 = 12.953
mph = 105.520

2nd run. Feeling better after getting my nicotine fix

r/t = .532
60' = 1.717
330' = 5.190
1/8 = 8.123
mph = 84.651
1000' = 10.630
1/4 = 12.770
mph = 106.111

3rd run. Tires still warm. Z28 on the right lane covered my whole car in tire smoke from his burn out. Pissed me off coz i could'nt do one. Best run of the night

r/t = .150
60' = 1.67
330' = 5.185
1/8 = 8.118
mph = 84.824
1000' = 10.627
1/4 = 12.761
mph = 106.885

Last run. My buddy Nick (gilmore25)wanted to drive. Did a good job too

r/t = .130
60' = 1.682
330' = 5.230
1/8 = 8.164
mph = 84.116
1000' = 10.663
1/4 = 12.810
mph = 106.216

It's probably my 4th time out at the strip. I don't drag much. i prefer the dirt more. Still had a blast though.

Question for the Drag racers out there. Need help on analyzing my numbers. How much room do i have for improvement? Better launch? R/T? Faster shifts? I was told to do better on my 60' times since i did 1.9-2.xx the first time out. I was also trapping 108.xx. Now that i'm doing 1.6-1.7s, i'm trapping lower. It's wierd.

Best run last time out (last year) was 13.001@108.xx w/ 1.79 60'

Your times look great to me!
I'm surprised your running that good considering the mods your showing. I wouldn't expect much more out of your setup without spending more money.
Anything in the 1.6s is good for your 60' times....It all depends on how much you want torture your drivetrain.
Reaction times can always be better, but don't really matter to your et if your looking strictly for time slip improvements. They come into play when your racing someone else.
Question: Were you using a pro tree? or were you red lighting?
About your lower trap speeds: The quicker you get down the track, the less time you have to build speed. Your trap speed looks normal to me (comparing to your last years time)
I'm curoius: What was the temperature? Are you pro tuned or running a off the shelf map? What kind of CAI? and finally, how much boost and what were your shift points?
Best regards,
myleslong

Those times are damn good as is. If you flat-shift you will gain some mph and a 10th or so, but otherwise there not much else to do. You can try different shift points, but these seem to be working for you.

Great job Earl I think on your 3rd run you had a hard time getting into 5th correct?? It was a blast driving your car the easiest STI i've ever lauched, I was easy on your tranny I didn't shift fast like I do on my car i usually flat shift the 1st-2nd-3rd shift... Think I'll be taking my car back out there next Wednesday to try to get my car into the 1.6 60FT instead of the 1.9 I pulled on my 12.8 run

Sorry i forgot to subscribe in my own thread.

Also forgot to mention i am PROtuned not just OTS map.

Thanks for the kind words guys. And thanks for the tips too.

Myles
Pro tree? It's the same as the yellow,yellow,yellow,green right? If so then yes. Won all runs so AFAIK, no red lights. Temp was high 40s low 50s i think. I believe i'm at 19 PSI. I Redlined first and shift 6500+/- RPMs 2nd on up. Love them Grand Nationals BTW!

jsh139
Thanks. I neglected to mention but i am PROtuned.

luSTI
Flat shift? I'm lost.

Nick
I'll try to make it on wednesday to cheer you on bud and good luck. Wanna trade cars? J/K. My 4th to 5th shift was fine on the 3rd run.

Andrew and Sniper
Thanks

Man you finally posted some of your runs huh. I say good s@%t, it's about time. As for tips, dude get a bigger turbo and let's runs some 11second passes the next time around. I wanna see more 1.6's out of your car but none the less good run with pump gas, with c16 you should be in the 12.4-5 territory. Did I forget to mention that this guy can hit 1.6's-1.7's with his eyes close. Man your taking the Almighty Speed King to school, hopefully you didn't hurt the dudes feelings.

Flat shift meaning the gas pedal never leaves the floor.
