I did'nt think i was gonna be able to pull this off but i ran a NEW personal best last night.

r/t = .372
60' = 1.659
330' = 5.107
1/8 = 7.998
mph = 85.791
1000' = 10.479
1/4 = 12.587
mph = 108.049

I'm just stoked about it! Thought i'd share

And big THANKS to all that offered tips on how to improve!

Thats AWSOME man!!! Veryy impressive times. Just to know did you switch up your shift points at all, or was that solely from you shifting? I wouldnt be suprised if you gained those 2 10ths and 2mph just from flat-shifting.

I saw that last run, that was a great pass. I could not get traction all night in the right lane.I would spin all four tires all the way through first resulting in 2.1 60's and running 13.3 @ 106. i was pissed all night because of that.

Awesome run man. You are one of the few to knock off a 7.9x eighth mile in a stg2 STI.

I think that if you play with your shift points you could knock off another tenth or so (from comparing to my own timeslips).

Earl's getting closer to hitting 12.4's on a vf39!!! Can't wait for it to happen, maybe with some c16 tune possibly 12.2-12.3 or better 1/4mile with some more of the usual 1.6's off the dig. Launch technique is unknown cause he closes his eyes when he launches. Haha pretty good for a guy who that doesn't like to drag race alot, so he says.

All shifting bro. That's all. 1st time trying it too! Thanks again for the tip.

gilmore25
You're funny bro. You've seen my rotated vf39!?

555BLACKOUT
High! Almost too high. 6k+

A1337STI
It's still nice and cool in NorCal so i did'nt need to spray or ice my IC (i don't do that in the summer anyway). I redline 1st-2nd and shift no lower that 6500 after. Feather the clutch and slip it hard. But i'm really no "launch master". I suggest hitting up BLUE STINGER about launch techniques, he's been coaching me for sometime now on how to do it. Hell, he gets all upset if i bog it or if he smells burnt clutch!

USAF_STi
Left lane Brett, it does the trick. Play with the DCCD a bit too, see which setting works for you. Might help a bit on traction. Other than that, i don't know what else to tell you.

jaygoesfast
Thanks dude! Seen your slips. I'm pushing hard coz you've proven low/mid 12's is not science fiction for a vf39! Where do YOU shift at? If you don't mind. I wanna knock off a tenth from my time so i could say i'm almost as cool and could go fast like Jay! 60's and ET's i'm there (i think)

scubbySTIve and DubaURX Rob
Thanks guys

BLUE STINGER
You of all people KNOW i'm no drag racer! Thanks for showing me the Mt. Hamilton route. No launching required there. Maybe a parachute just in case Blue Betsy decides to drift off the cliff!

I might try c16 sometime, see what that does. Thanks again guys

Ran the Grudge Fest last saturday and broke my old time.

1st run in months!

r/t = .199
60' = 1.680
330' = 5.108
1/8 = ?
mph = ?
1000' = 10.471
1/4 = 12.577
mph = 109.010

2nd run. MY BEST RUN EV4R! (so far)

r/t = .162
60' = ?
330' = 5.083
1/8 = 7.955
mph = 86.045
1000' = 10.408
1/4 = 12.485 New personal Best!
mph = 109.564

3rd run. Feeling hella ****y. Screwed up the launch a bit. Tried too hard to hit 110 traps (which was my goal for the weekend)

r/t = .091
60' = 1.712
330' = 5.128
1/8 = ?
mph = 11.094 (?) [that's what the slips says]
1000' = 10.470
1/4 = 12.569
mph = 109.211

4th run. Scary as hell. Staged next to a late 60's SS camaro. Slicks, caged, N2O'd, primered paint, the works. He ran the light and spooked the sh!t out of me! I swear i heard something blow up next to me! When i turned to look, all i saw was a little skinny front wheel about level to my window, moving with a purpose! Ended up with a screwed up launch and a redlined 1st gear.

My r/t = .072 SS's = -.064
60' = 1.740 = 1.359
330' = 5.222 = 4.022
1/8 = 8.103 = 6.277
mph = 86.298 = 109.103
1000' = 10.566 = 8.233
1/4 = 12.659 = 9.944 !!!!!!
mph = 108.759 = 131.279

(?) = the light/sensors are f'd up and not working

SS had to tap the brakes coz he's a little out of shape at the top half of the 1/8 and still ran 9's! Great front row seat to watch the show.

Overall. I missed my goal of trapping 110. Mike's (Gruppe-S) tune was dead on but i could'nt deliver. This was pure driver error/weakness. The car is strong and feels capable of running deep 12's @ 110+ traps. I just NEED to learn how to drive better.

Stay tuned. I feel this personal best ain't gonna be my best for long.
