| Professional STI Racer Feedback Score: 1 reviews | Alright so I've been to the track a couple times now, so you could say I'm semi experienced. The best Ive been able to run as a 13.1 (stock turbo, stage 2 catless + Intake) and this was about 5 months ago.. I went to the track yesterday with some new mods: 38mm EWG kit (Grimmspeed) PnP manifold (Grimmspeed) hi-flow cross pipe (Grimmspeed) Walbro 255 Prodrive 3 port boost solenoid Protune (Jorge @ P&L) [protune backround: 300.12 HP / 326.22 TQ , We did find a SMALL exhaust leak that barely affected the tune, located between the flanges of the cross pipe and manifold elbow. We did max the stock injectors. The curve is very smooth and barely tapers. Jorge said the car ran strong.] I was hoping to at least hit mid 12's.. Didn't happen best run of the night was 13.438 R/T - .764 (slow) 60' - 1.786 330 - 5.540 1/8 - 8.609 MPH - 80.29 1000 -11.225 1/4 - 13.438 MPH - 102.14 Went through all the gears strong, felt great off the line. kept it in fourth through the line, hit about 7300 rpm. idk what happened.. Im running the stock potenzas that I lowered the psi down to 25, the weather was perfect (60-ish), the track was sprayed with VHT and prepped nicely. BTW, the car is a 2006 Subaru STi. If there is any other information I can post, please let me know. I will try to get a scan of the dyno sheet and time slip, and a video of the race. Any help? IWSTI Addict since: Jul 2005 | what elevation is the track, and what were the weather conditions when you raced? (IE temp, humidity, wind) There are 4 possibilities. The leak opened up worse affecting your times The track is very high elevation and it was a very hot day There is a mechanical issue with the car (hurt motor...ect) There is even a possibility there is a problem with the tune, though very unlikely considering the tuner is pretty well known. without the answer to #1 or #2 question we cant say for certain if your times are normal or off. |

The times were all taken at the same track. Weather conditions were very similar with both runs. If the leak is opening up, shouldn't I be able to hear it? or atleast notice it? | |

IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2007 | Original poster, do you have any video of you at the track? The 60ft time is pretty good and the car is making good hp and should easily run into the 12s with more effort. If the shifts are slow, it will really hurt your times. So maybe you need to just keep practicing? |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2004 | You need to be shifting into 5th with a pre-07 STI tranny. The best thing you can do is datalog your passes and get some in-car video to see what's happening. I would guess that you aren't shifting fast enough. |
