Default Quick Question

Hey I just bought myself a 2004 STi... Its pretty much stock except for a K&n Shortram intake.. I was wondering whats the best RPm to launch at? I have launched on a 2005 tC FWD, but I am Struggling with the AWD STi..
I appreciate the help
Thanks

Default Re: Quick Question

if i were you i would check axles and drive train since it's a used vehicle and you don't know how it's been driven before you got it. if you can raise the car up and check your rear axles, you'll have those medal clamps holding your axle cv boots on where they over lap on both the inner and outer boots. i would check to make sure that they look pretty even to each other on both left and right axles, the reason i say this is because if the car has been drivin hard before the clamps will be about 1/4 inch way from each other letting you know that the axle has been twisted somewhat and have a higher chance of breaking. with that being said don't dump the clutch try at 4k rpm and slip the cluch out while giving throttle 100%. when your moving let up on the clutch but don't dump it, it takes some practice. hope this helps you out.
