i was having trouble getting into 5th a terrible grind. normal driving and it shifts fine. aggresive shifts 5th gear grinds.

this is on an 05 sti

i am fresh off a build and still breaking in the motor. this setup is 370 hp. in about 1k more miles i will be able to revert back to my race map running a hydramist and a tune and hopefullyit will net me some great numbers

Assuming it was a dynojet, 370whp will get you into the low 12's or high 11's at around 115mph with a good pass. Lower that 60ft from a 1.8 to a 1.6 and you will get much faster.

If you grind going into 5th,in your case, at high revs, it's usually 99.9% of the time a bad syncro. Good 1/8 mile tarp for a very low 12 pass. Congrats.

curious why you felt the need to drag race the car if you are still breaking in the motor?

learn how to launch and shift. You can basically shift the sti with zero lag if u are a baller
