Default P&L's 4EAT 30R car. 11.3's on a slushbox!

For someone who's always championed an automatic transmission, we thought we'd take an '06 STI shell, a stock motor, and a race prepped IPT transmission with Protorque converter, and set it up as a daily driver for Paul Szuba (The owner of P&L Motorsports).

For those who don't know, Paul is a WKA shifter kart champion, and is also our chief engine builder and porter. What makes all of this even better is the fact that Paul is an example of human tenacity being in a wheel chair and having one arm, and one leg; NEVER letting it stop him from setting out to accomplish ANYTHING!

So, we grabbed an Accessport we had lying around, one of our P&L exhausts, and our P&L 3076R .82 turbo kit, and did a conservative endurance tune for him at about 20 PSI so he could go and road race the car since he's put his shifter kart career on permanent hold due to the shop growing as fast as it has.

I never figured he'd drive the car up to our Midwest Subaru shootout, and crack out an 11.3 @ 117 MPH!

What's even more impressive is the 7.2 @ 98 MPH 1/8 mile he's running!

I can only imagine what it will be like turning up the boost and using some C-16!

Not too shabby for a slushbox...

Some pics!

Congrats again Paul!
-Jorge

We went back to the track yesterday with the car with a few more tweaks to it. So close to tens. 11.0 @ 118

Not bad for just a 30r in my opinion.

Here's some updated photos of the car.

YouTube - P&L MotorSports, stretching the Time Attack car's legs. <-- ... and who says an Automatic isn't good for road racing?

Paul was recently at the Nashville Time Attack stretching out the car with James Elterman in the P&L Built Takata Time Attack car. He was in second, right behind James until the very last lap, and fell behind by four tenths of ONE second at the very end.

It drag races, it daily drives, it time attacks.

Was the 11.08 done on pump, meth or race gas?
