Default And so the disappointments continue........

Well, some of you who have been reading my posts know that I have been having some issues at the track with my car and the knock sensor on pump gas. I went back to my tuner and got tuned for a race gas tune. The car picked up really well and made some impressive numbers. 422whp/446wtq. The car felt great and I was ready for the big race we were having a few days later. The day before the race I go to my VP dealer (3 hours total drive and 140 for 10 gallons of C16!) and buy more fuel. This Sunday we hit the track.
I arrive, put the race fuel in, change the tune, and hit the starting line. The car makes its best pass to date and goes 7.7 @ 91.5 and 12.0 @ 117 on a run that was just meant to test the track. This was on a lousy 1.79 60' so I am thinking we are going to run some mid 11's at 120+! WRONG. After that pass the car slowed down like it was running on a poor pump gas tune. It started trapping all over the place on consistent 60's. 109, 110, 114, etc. We looked at everything. The car was running smoothly, no problems, no miss, nothing. Just felt like it wasn't pulling hard. It turns out that the $140 I spent on fuel got me bad gas! The exhaust tip on your car turns bright white when you run C16 and mine was dark brown! I guess the ECU was smart enough to detect that something was wrong and pulled timing and boost from the car. I couldn't believe it! Another wasted day and a ton of money down the drain. The only bright side is that it looks like VP is giving me 10 free gallons of C16 this week. I guess I will be back this weekend to finally get a number that fits the potential of the car. Just had to vent a little!

Motor is good. I did a compression test on it today and it read 140,140,140,141! I had a small boost leak and bad fuel. I got another 10 gallons today and I am ready to try again

Wow that is rare VP is usually top of the line. I have ran many different brands of race gas F&L, Trick, and VP. I've never had a problem. VP usually feels like it pulls the best. But I would also say you should try running some of the F&L S/T fuel it is rated at 118.
