Default 13.722 @ 100 - all stock ... tips requested

I just made 2 passes today - first time drag racing the car ever (not first time drag racing tho) -
I had a 13.80 @ 100.19 with a 2.08 60 ft
and 13.722 @ 100.00 with a 2.07 60 ft.

Now I know the 60ft sucks... first time I wasn't in the good groove of the track and launched at 5200 and spun. Had the DCCD on auto for this run.
Second time I got into the groove of the track and launched at 4400 and had the DCCD one notch away from LOCK (at the advice of a friend). And it bogged and fell on its face.

Now my questions are the following...
Where are you guys launching with success?
What setting do you have your DCCD at?

Were you at Island today?
I use Cobb LC at 5500. I ran a 13.0 @ 101 w/ a 1.67 60'... next time ill try a run without LC.
I prefer Auto but Ive only tried full lock once and it felt to rough and gave me the feeling it wasn't distributing power wisely.

Yep I was there. came super late (2pm).

I'll be installing UTEC this week.
I can set launch control with that if need be. Are you just side stepping it ? or slipping it?

What's done to your STI? I saw a few there, my buddy Drake was there with his built WRX, I saw 2 black STIs and a White one as well. Did you see the Blue EVO trapping 139?! Fast as hell.

Yeah I know Drake also. I guess you go to the applebees meets too? I only got to hear the Evo but it sounded sick. How about that WRB sti with the cage? F ing niiiice! What was up with that Supra who couldnt get the launch down?

Im running stock turbo EWG Protuned with Cobb EM and supporting mods.
Were you running 13's or 12's? Your title and 1st post are different? I mite be out again next Sunday after some Saturday weight reduction haha. I posted in the Northeast forum about Idub Peps at Island but still I cant seem to get anyone's attention.

Yeah I goto the applebees meets. I didn't see the caged STI but a friend who was there earlier than I was told me about it (Corey if you know him... drives an 03 Cobra that currently holds the 6spd/IRS/Stock blower record). No idea on the supra, saw the car itself but didn't see it run.

13s. Dunno how the post is wrong unless its a typo (I'll check).

*edit* - was a typo... 13.72 and 13.80.
So yeah ... basically any tips you or anyone else wants to give me I'm all for.

You should come by my place on Saturday if you wanna get in on some weight loss. Im taking off my U brace and front bumper beam and possibly the spoiler (temporarily) plus whatever I can think of.
Im definitely bringing some ice for my IC next time. My trap speeds were getting progressively lower as the day went on. I actually had my slowest trap on my fastest run... it was my last one of the day.
Im so glad I finally got everything down on my last run. I was up against that grey silverado (turbo diesel?) and if I lost my buddy would've never let me hear the end of that. It ran a 13.25

I'll be busy with work saturday So I can't go... Weight reduction isn't my thing besides the sub and spare tire. I already have a wingless car anyways.

I'll be adding in ice in the future as well.

Actually we're renting out Beaver Springs on the 11th of April. I have to have the following installed by the 10th for my Tuning date on April 10th at Verocious....

- GT Spec Headers
- HKS Downpipe
- Invidia Up-pipe
- Greddy EVO2 exhaust
- UTEC Delta
- Boost and EGT Gauges
- Phenolic Intake Mani Spacer
- TGV Deletes
- Snow Performance Stage 2 Meth Kit with Safe Injection
- V-limited front lip
- Turbonetics Raptor Blow off Valve

So I went up today to get some stock numbers... I'd just wanna know what i can do to improve next time around. I might go again with just the UTEC installed Wednesday night at Cecil County.

You have to bring those 60's down. With a low 1.8 you should be running 13.3s. I bet your trap would get a lil higher also. Lauch at 5500-6000 with a quick to slow slip, that seems to work best for me. Any time i try to launch much lower then 5500 it bogs.

whats the deal with this track rental? Me and a couple of people might be interested.

even if you drop the clutch at high rpm you can still bog if you are not getting on the throttle fast enough, you basically need to flutter it around 5k slip it and mash the throttle at the same time.

also if you get launch control you can flat shift without worry of hitting the rev limiter which should help
