Default 20G at the track today...

Well we took the car to the track today to see if the dyno sheets would match the track times. This was the first day this year the track was open and the condition were awful. It was about 38-39 degrees and there was no traction. The best the car 60 footed was a 1.85. The highest mph was 87 in the 1/8 and 113 in the 1/4. The best time in the 1/8 was an 8.10 followed by a 12.61 in the 1/4. This was with a passenger in the car.

The car is pulling timing big time when it is power shifted. Is anyone else experiencing this? The car feels so much stronger when it is shifted while lifting off the gas. It really doesn't start to pull on the track like it should until 5th gear. What can be done about this? On a day when the track is actually prepped, I know the car has a very low 12 in it and probably around 115-118mph. Overall it wasn't too bad for the cars first trip to the track on a very crappy day.

What is everyone else trapping on their 20G with pump and are you power shifting the car?

I noticed if I hit the rev limiter when I power shift it seems to pull timing in the next gear for a few seconds, then the car jumps back to life.

What kind of tuning are you using? I Ecutek and am getting rid of it for something that allows launch control/ 2 step rev limit. Ecutek was good when I first got the car tuned but I am out growing it.

I don't like Ecutek, so I can't believe I'm saying this. But keep what you got and slap and UTEC on for the LC.

Well, or you can sell your ecutek license, use that for a UTEC and use whichever open source software you like to tune and save some bucks. Or use the money from the ecutek sale for a professional tune if you can't do it. People that know my history might say I'm a little biased though

OP, can you verify your AFRs while shifting? Any logs? Also, a little OT, but how does the 20G fit you? I'm torn between that, and a green like turbo.

I don't have any logs, but when I got the car tuned we took it for a ride and he told me to shift it like I would at the track. When I was power shifting the car was pulling up to 14 degrees of timing! He didn't want to back the knock sensor off on pump gas, but we will be on race fuel. I am going to take it back and try just shifting fast, but not FFS.

The turbo feels great! I love it. The car pulls so hard on the street, we just need to control the knock sensor and get a good launch and it will go some really low 12's on pump. I think it has 116+mph in it on pump too.

I agree that UTEC on top an ECUTEK is sweet!

Launch control and some getting use to the new setup and of course ditching the passanger will put you in the low 12's. On a good day with traction and race gas I am sure you will be kissing the 11's

I'm liking this UTEC with LC. I've used ECUtek forever, and would love launch control for the track. Can someone chime in on how these two progrms work together? Thanks......

My SZ49 made 360whp on pump gas and went 12.0 @ 114 on pump gas, that was FFS the car. So if your car made 370whp i dont see any reason why you cant go 116 - 118 mph with good driving. I feel my car would have went 115 or 116 with a better 60ft.

Get that timing problem taken care off and get back to the drag strip. LC/FFS will make things easier but you shouldnt need it for a 20g.
