Fastest "Stage 1" 04-06 STI?

I've just been curious, I've seen several threads about stock STI's running as fast as 12.9 with hotshot drivers, and great track conditions. Was just wondering, what is the fastest anyone has run in a Stage 1 04-06 STI? By stage 1, I would could pretty much any STI that is running a fairly stock configuration (maybe a panel air filter or something), with either an OTS map or even a full dyno tune/Protune.

I only specify the 04-06, due to the larger gains people are seeing with the 07's VF43 & faster 1/4 mile times with the '07's gearing.

Some forums have a fastest times thread. This would of course be based on the honor system for the most part. There could be as many different categories as we wanted. "showroom stock", "mostly stock", "stage one", etc. I think the fact many people here frown on 1/4 mile racing in general has been one reason this has not made it to this forum yet. It would be a pretty cool reference guide though, were it implemented here.

I hear ya, STI's weren't designed with 1/4 mile times in mind, however I like to use 1/4 mile times (more specifically trap speeds) to gauge performance of a car, as there's too many variables with dynos to get an accurate assessment IMO. By variables, I mean differences in power with Dynojets, Dyno Dynamics, Mustangs dynos, ect ect.

It would be nice to have something like that here though (1/4 mile registry), for a reference.

I think the fastest stock STi went 12.7-12.8 or so. Not sure about a stage 1, probably not much faster. I don't think a stage 1 will really make a noticable difference in the 1/4 mile. However, I could be wrong.

I want to know what the fastest stage 2 is? Probably low 12's.

i believe the fastest stage 2 is 11.7-11.8... i forget. the guy is on this forum and i-club.com. his name is DOWNSTI. his car is hawt!!!!

That doesn't suprise me... I was just being conservative.

Any idea what exactly his mods were? I want to know what combo he was running, and what trap speed.
I've seen traps of 110 before with a stage 2, but I would figure that running 11.7 would probably require a higher trap than that with a nice 60 ft.

BTW- I was meaning pump gas times, not race. I did a search, and I see that his times were with 100 octane.

I ran a 12.9 with turbo back and cold air intake with NO tune on pump gas.
My reaction was .8 so i could have gotten 12.8 but thats it. trap speed was 104 or so. cold night too. (2005 sti)

Nice times.... just so you know, your r/t has no bearing on your e/t. Only time it matters is when you're actually racing the guy next to you (because you want to hole shot him), or you're braket racing.

Thanks, I would like to race my wife's in the 08 i just bought her. i think it will be 13.4 for the 08. if not slower. it just doesnt pull like i thought...
