well made it out to Pacific Raceway in WA and made two passes. Both in the twelves. I took it easy on the launch on the first run to figure out how sticky the track was and this was my second pass.

How did you launch the car? I couldn't seem to get my 07 sti to launch right (coming from an 06 wrx). How do you have the DCCD set and what RPM's are you launching at. Also, is that side stepping the clutch or riding it out really fast?

thanks gents.
that was 110 octane with 21psi tapering very quickly to 15psi
DCCD was set to Auto.
Launched it at 5500 rpm with a feathered slip.
I also preloaded the axles just a little bit right before the launch by slightly releasing the clutch.

Nice run.

Have you ever tried launching with the DCCD set on full lock? The guy on here with the fastest vf39 record (or had it for awhile) was getting 1.6's consistently by doing it. I was always curious.

How the hell do you feather the clutch and not slip the **** out of it?

Every time i've tried to launch, unless its a dump, i end up smelling clutch

I also came from a 06 wrx and the difference is drastic. I just took mine to the track yesterday and did about 25 runs or so. I played with the dccd a little bit and the best time i got was with the dccd on auto. the best launch i found was at about 5600-5800(best 60' 1.67) with tires spinning about all through first gear with just letting clutch out quick(no burn smell at all). I was very impressed how much these cars can take a beating. nice run
