yea i think 12.8, but keep in mind that thing is being abused big time. Still, even motortrend i believe ran a 13.0 in 04 or 05. They are good but def not the best. Wonder what a magazine like mm&ff would do with one. I remember they ran a 01-03 m3 and did 12.8 stock

Motor Trend beats the hell out of cars when testing. The test in Cali (sea level) and have tested every year but 07 STi. The fastest year was 2006 STi. The 07 STi was slower than the 06 STi because the gearing in the tranny changed. The 04-06 STi have taller gears which is better for acceleration. The 07 and 08 have the same gears which are shorter. The 07 STi has the fastest 0-60 time because 2nd gear goes up to 60mph at 7000rpm and all other years need 3rd gear to hit 60mph. I have search hours for this info. cheers

True. Good summary. The 08 STi is slower 0-60 but same time 0-80 as 07'.

giant negative homie. re-read what you typed and try to correct yourself.

the 07 had the tallest gearing...i trapped at 108 in my car at times when the older sti's had to shift to fifth, i was still in forth with some tach to go..

i don't think i shifted to fifth until about 112ish...

That's pretty good. My 4th runs out at about 96mph on the track. There are some long straights that I wish I didn't have to shift for.
