IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2008 | Motor Trend beats the hell out of cars when testing. The test in Cali (sea level) and have tested every year but 07 STi. The fastest year was 2006 STi. The 07 STi was slower than the 06 STi because the gearing in the tranny changed. The 04-06 STi have taller gears which is better for acceleration. The 07 and 08 have the same gears which are shorter. The 07 STi has the fastest 0-60 time because 2nd gear goes up to 60mph at 7000rpm and all other years need 3rd gear to hit 60mph. I have search hours for this info. cheers |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2008 | True. Good summary. The 08 STi is slower 0-60 but same time 0-80 as 07'. |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2007 | You didn't have to shift to fifth at 108?! |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2007 | That's pretty good. My 4th runs out at about 96mph on the track. There are some long straights that I wish I didn't have to shift for. |

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2007 | After a couple of Friday nights at my local track (Race City - elevation ~3500 ft) I had a best time in my bone stock (tires included) 08 sti of 14.179 @ 95.81. If you believe the NHRA correction factors for that track it works out to be equivalent to 13.58 @ 100.13 at sea level. I am far from the best driver so I think that 13.7-13.9 is doable at my elevation and low low 13s are possible at sea level. I have heard of a stock 07 sti doing 13.6-13.8 at that track last year. |
