Default Grinding Sound when turning right, need help

Hello, I'm a new member and I own an 04 STi. Recentley I have noticed a grinding sound when I turn right. It sounds like when your turning down a brake drum or rotor. I figure it's the brakes, but I'm worried it might be related to the Diff. Car has 52,000mi and the dealer said it is in exellent mechanical condition a few months back. I would really appreciate any help or advice you could give.

I'm no expert, and with that description, it could be many things. As you slowing down when turning? Or simply turning the wheels while stationary?

1) Wheel bearing - not uncommon on 04s.
2) CV joint? Probably not, though.
3) Brake pad/rotor issue - check your pads and fluid.

also.. you might want to bring it to the dealer also since you are still covered under powertrain warranty. It ends at 60,000 miles.

I think the problem is the drivetrain. I can't remember if the drivetrain is covered that long. Powertrain would be engine components.

It sounds like your drive shaft IMO. You might want to visit the dealer.

True. Different dealerships = different interpretation of the warranty. Although the 60k miles thing may be drivetrain and powertrain. I haven't looked at it in some time.

Hey everyone thanks for all the advice. I actually put it up on a lift today and took off the wheels and found that it was most likely a problem with the left rear brake. One of the two bolts on the caliper had been sheered off at the top (no idea how) also when I spun the wheel it made the grinig noise. I took the car to the dealer immediatley and it is being fixed. Hopefully that was it. otherwise I will consider your other suggestions. Thanks again for being so helpful.
