IWSTI Addict since: Jul 2007 Trader Rating: (0) | Hows it goin i'm joining this forum in anticipation of my Sti arriving in the drive way in the coming months so i just wanted to say hi and had one question i have heard nothing but great things about subaru reliability but those all came from indiduals with early 90's non turbo unmodified machines so are there any major reliability issues i should be aware of when i get my sti? IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2006 Trader Rating: (6) | Reliability is inversely proportional to how much you mod it. The tranny is very tough, and many people pushing 400+ horsepower are on the stock tranny. The engine is pretty much okay all the way up to Stage 2 (turboback + engine management). Once you start swapping turbos and internals, it's anybody's guess. Generally speaking, suspension mods and the like don't affect reliability, just driveability. Welcome to IWSTI.
