| Lurker | Hey guys im new to the wrx world, but having a hard time wondering if I should get a s2000 or a wrx or sti. I love how a tune a couple mods and make wrx's really quick but still love both cars. The prices on used wrx are really good so thats why I might choose! Any ideas? thanks Kenny This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2005 Trader Rating: (2) | i had the same problem with the s2k and sti, my good friend let me drive his s2k for a week (he owns 99 eclipse gst, 79 vette, 99 civic hatch, s2k, rt stealth, nissan murano, and jeep grand cherokee) i loved the s2k alot, like everyone says it screams top end, but typical honda/acura, no low end power. plus passengers got annoyed with the road noise, (it had removable hard top) i went sti after test driving it, and after talkin on the forums here for a month or two, just to get an idea of the love/hate with the car...its tough choice but i made the right one (for me at least) the s2k had no mods on it, bone stock. up side i can see with the s2k would be the convertible, and easy to mod....sti however, out of box power is great, not so easy to mod if u dont have alot of cash (im a student again so mods will have to wait) good luck |

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2005 Trader Rating: (1) | If you're planning to buy Subaru, don't purchase a WRX if you can afford the STI. You'll end up wanting to upgrade in a few months (9 months for me, to be exact). The S2k will offer its own specific perks but remember that aside from handling, power and sound, what you're getting with an S2k is a two door coupe that is great for jumping from Starbucks to Starbucks. The STI is a four door saloon that is more versatile as an actual vehicle in addition to being a sports car. The S2k will be nice to look at, but you'll never be able to pack 4 girls into it. Some might say one seat is all you need but I know that most chicks don't like their hair messed up when the top's down anyway. Good luck on your purchase! |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2005 Trader Rating: (3) | First off welcome to the forum and I hope you enjoy your stay. IMO if I were to pay 30k+ for a new car, I would get the STi > the S2K. For 30k, the STi and Evo are the best bang for the buck. However, if you are talking about used, hands down S2K if you do not mind the 2 seater convertible. A 00-01 used S2K ranges from about 15g-18g with about 40-60k miles on autotrader. I would definitely get the S2K over a wrx though. |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2004 Trader Rating: (2) | get s2k is you have another car to travel or carry stuff around get wrx if you don't have money(can be as fast as sti with mods and good tune) get sti if you want all around performance WIth that said, you can get so much more for your money on sti than any other vehicle in the street. that extra 5000 or less from wrx to sti is well worth it. starting from brembo, interior, bbs wheels, tires, engine, turbo, 6 speed, all the sti trim, these parts are well over 5000 if you ask me. BBS rim alone cost 750 a piece without tire! so do the math. You will regret of getting wrx over sti But if you want handling and looks, get new s2k. they are so sexy and light. But parts on those are soooo expensive. like mugen hard top is like 5000. I personally get s2k eventually. sti and s2k is a good mix |

IWSTI Addict since: Jul 2005 Trader Rating: (2) | STi definately beats s2k for the price.. its easier to mod than an s2k... Its faster.. and its a lot more usable as a daily driver and you can carry passengers and go on road trips |

| Banned | If you don't mind the handling....might as well just get the WRX and stage 2.....subie messed up by making it so close in performance to the STi ..why spend all the extra for suspension/tranny? it's not like it was back in 04 where the wrx was a dog and STi was king....subie fugged up... ohhhh well..that's why i'm getting EVO X vs another subie even though i realy wanted too!! they even stretched out the gearing!!! not as fun as the shorter gears!!! STi sales took a dump in my area...gotta wonder if they are smoking crack!! This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad.
