| Amateur STI Driver | I recently bought a 2005 Sti about a month and a half ago. I want to start the upgrade process, but I am not sure what to do first. You have to keep in mind I am on a limited budget for the time being. I want to make it a rocket, but piece by piece. In a consenses what should I do first to start the process?( I am sorry for the ignorant spelling problems) This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

Make sure you thoroughly do your research on here before buying parts as you don't want to waste money. That said, here is a starters list for what you will want to do. 1. Turboback exhaust (these can range from $500-over a $1000). 2. Engine management (I would suggest the Cobb AP for $650 which comes with a generic map and then get custom tuned for $150-$200 or get the ECUTek which would be a custom tune for $850) If you want you could also get an alcohol injection kit for $500 (you would have to be custom tuned for this) but this is about all you could do without upgrading your turbo. Yeah, you could get headers or a bigger TMIC but the mods I listed are the best bang for the buck mods you are going to get without going to a bigger turbo. The main thing is to figure out where you want to be in the future because future mods will have an impact on the size of exhaust you need to run, etc. |
