How many STi's were produced in each year to the US? Is there a color breakout?

What are the mechanical differences between an 06 STi and an 07 STi?

Different heads, turbo, ecu, gearset to name a few. I'm sure I'm missing something glaringly obvious...

I should have said earlier that I'm sorry I didn't do a thorough search. I'm sure this question has probably been asked several times already.

Anyway, from what I've read, the sodium filled exhaust valves have been removed, and the rear sway has been reduced from 21mm to 19mm. Also, the 2007MY has stiffer body braces, and an updated rear differential.

I'm more curious to know about the valves though.. was there an issue with the sodium filled valves, or was this just a cost cutting measure? FInally, I see the 2007 is rated at 293hp, vs the older model's at 300hp. Why?

I got no official word on why they changed the valves, however the horsepower difference is just an updated version of how the industry rates horsepower. Example: Under the old measuring system the 06 STi made 300 hp. The current system now rates the 07 STi at 293 hp. Its just a numbers game. I believe both motors produce the same power. It just a different way of measuring.
