| Professional STI Driver Car: Sold 06 Aspen White/ Fav Mod: Meticulous Maintenance Location: AL Posts: 412
IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | My 06 STI is extremely stable at 152 mph. From 110 mph and up the "whistle blows" thanks to the sideview mirror aerodynamics. The steering wheel, seat ride, and overall dynamics are stable. Deceptive even. The main difference in high speed stability and handling among stock STI's is tire pressure and tire wear. My car never fails to impress me and I have driven and ridden in numerous high speed and high end vehicles over the years. I also have very high standards. The STI will do 100 mph very easily. Without the speedometer I would be inclined to say that on freeway drives I would consistently exceed the posted speed limit every time and be convinced that I was not. Thank God for the speedometer. IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2005 Trader Rating: (7) | I've taken it up to 150 and seen the hood shake like crazy! But it does seem sturdy enough. I have had one side of my hood scoop come off before though. Very scary. -Ryan |

There is a fair amount of conjecture that one reason the '06 scoop is smaller is because of the complaints of vibration with the big 'ol '04-'05 scoop. I don't even notice it. I took my wing off, partly because of its distracting vibration, but that was only a small part. The car itself is smooth up to at least 120----errr, extra-legal speeds. All my Subies have been smooth runners at speed. Remember that smoothness at speed is largely a function of tire and wheel quality and balance. Secondarily, suspension can play a role. | |

| Junior STI Driver | on certain back roads in nowhere parts of nebraska ive hit 155+ and the car is very stable, though i wouldnt recommend these speeds to anyone because there comes a point where your just going insanely too fast and have to take into consideration speed rating, and suspension..etc |
