IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2005 Trader Rating: (29) | I usually let the car run for about 5 mins before I leave the house to work....my job is basically less than 2 miles away, and by the time I get to the place...its already halfway between mid and low on the temp gauge.....I def don't WOT or step on it...just enough to move and change gears...very nice and baby it there....but after its warmed up your good to go! |

IWSTI Addict since: May 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | I usually do it in like 30 second. Its just nice for me to put on my seatbets, switch this and that.. touch here and there etc... If really cold, i'll wait for another 30 second. I think its really unncessary to warm your engine. Even if your engine is warm, your transmission may not. So you assume everything is warm and you drive hard and later to discover that your transmission cannot last for long. Best, drive gently initally until it reaches normal operating temp. - Charles |
