Default New STi owner! Quick question

Hi guys! After waiting a year I've finally bought a new black '06 WRX STi! I'm so excited to get out of the break in period and can't wait to start feeling 300 horses

Unfortunately, this is also my first manual car Prior to my purchase I logged about 5-6 hours behind the wheel of my friend's '98 Honda Prelude, as well as about 2 hours of stick time on dealer test drives. I've already put some miles on my new car, and I've had my fair share of stalling but not much else (no overrevs, no misshifts). Right now I can drive without stalling *whew*. However, I can't help but feel that I've somehow "messed up" my car by learning on it. I guess my question is: will there be problems down the line because of me learning on the car?

^^ Probably not, the transmission is pretty well built so there shouldn't be much to worry about. Welcome!

You'll be fine. I stalled the hell out of mine when I first got it and I've not had any problems. I couldn't even get out of the dealer's lot for a test drive without killing it at least once.

Might need a new clutch a little sooner, but no biggie.

like everyone said, you'll be fine. this was the first stick i've ever owned as well. bucked the hell out of it coming out of my first stop light. 10k miles later and the car is still fine.

only thing i can think of is a *slightly* worn tranny and "maybe" a worn clutch.

other than that, just try to stay off the clutch as much as you can...no riding like an automatic on a hill

Don't worry....even after a few years of driving stick I still stall every so often.
