| Lurker | A true newby series of questions which have probably been answered, but for which I can't find answers to. 1. When do you know to use the i/c sprayer? (My previous autos have not been turbos) I know you use it when its hot out, but are there specific guidelines? I'm assuming there is no light that indicates when it is the time to use it. Do you use the engine temp as a indicator or is it performance related? (e.g. acceleration drastically slows or the engine starts to labor). The owners manual was of little help. I am a true neophyte so any and all information would be appreciated. Picked up my new STI last Sunday 250 miles so far - itching to really drive it, but am staying below 4000 rpm's with minimum boost and no engine racing. Had an M3 blow by me at about 110mph on the San Diego Freeway a couple of nights ago and that was hard not to chase. A long drive up the coast on Route 1 tomorrow - can't wait This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

| Professional STI Racer | You can use it anytime you want, there's no "indicator" to let you know when. It'll come with time after you use it awhile and get a feel for it. On colder days down here in Florida it doesn't seem to have much effect. But boy when it's hot, it can make quite a difference (using the Seat 'O' the pants dyno). BTW you're gonna get this anyway so I might as well say it; this has been discussed a bunch on the forums, use search. There I said it. :P -rain- |

| Lurker | Raindance, Thanks for the answer. I figured out when I didn't get replies, and as important a topic as this is that it must have been addressed before. I did search the forum before I posted but obviously not dilligently enough. I apologize to the forum and hope I haven't burned out my welcome. BTW - Changed plans driving up to Big Bear ski resort today rather than up the coast. Should be fun. |

I don't think it is very usefull for everyday driving. It might help a bit on a hot day when you are sitting at a stoplight or something. |
