Can I take my car for this trip?

I have 400 miles on my brand new STI. I need to go for a 400 mile trip. Would it be unhealthy for the unbroken-in engine to take that trip?

just follow the directions for break-in.

the hard part is not to stay at any RPM for too long.

i took a long trip (150 miles) and switched between 5th and 4th every minute or so. sped up and slowed down a lot.

just don't set cruise and coast along.

Guess you already went on your trip, hope it was nice! Trips are always perfect for a break-in, as long as you vary the RPM's.

I'd just cruise at 75 for a few minutes, then go on a speed run for 30 seconds. Rinse, and repeat. Tell the officer you are making sure the engine is properly broken in.

Thanks For your replays guys!
I did not take STI for this trip,I took SAAB.I did not want to take chanses ,plus it was snowing in upstate New York.

Plus the STi sucks for long trips, at least for me, the suspension kills me.
