Was thinking about getting a front mounted intercooler, i like the looks of it.
so far i have a cobb turbo back exhaust
Cobb intake
& accessport.
do i need any supported mods for a FMIC or could i install one and just get a pro-tune and have no issues or effect the life of my engine?

Talking Re: Fmic

It's just for looks? Just mount it! No plumbing or tune required. This allows you to be so much more creative. You can have piping stick out the front or through your hood and the like! You can use the cheapest one out there, or even a fake one! Don't they have em next to hood scoops at the dollar store?

Dooo I - i - i-t-tt!

warning adding one will reduce you radiator and air conditioners capacity. But Plumbing it up and tuning are only needed to make it functional, And then they aren't all that beneficial on an otherwise stock STI.

If staying stock turbo don't change it. 2000+ tune for being less efficient is a silly buy imo

Absolutely. Plenty here running stock internals over 400whp. Research tuner extensively. They literally make or break your engine. Just make sure you get all supporting mods too.

.??? Depends on your definition of plenty. I would have said a bunch with a dyno sheet showing that that. Fewer that actually have it, and still fewer on stock internals, and then less of them that last a considerable time . . .

Why are there so many threads like this nowadays??? So pointless, please use the search function.

To answer the question, Do you need anything to run a FMIC?? Yes to make it functional you will need a tune. It is pointless to run a FMIC on an sti at those power levels. You would be better off spending your money on something else. Remember guys, FUNCTION > FORM.
