Hi i am a new to this forum i am from utah and just bought a 04 sti and i am clueless about it. i bought it as a theft recovery and is missing the motor. still has the transmission and alot of the motor parts in the trunk. i was also wondering what other motors are interchangable with my car? all the help i get will be appreciated thanks

Just drop in the standard EJ257. Other options would include an EJ22T out of an old Subaru Legacy Turbo, or a jdm EJ20 for its forged components and OEM twin scroll turbo setup.

What wiring harness do i need to use? i can pick up a 07 wrx impreza complete motor with only 27000 miles for 1000$ is that a good price? and can i use a 07 impresa motor with my 04 sti tranny?

you bought an sti, not a wrx.. why would you put a wrx motor in? ebay is your friend.. you will be super happy with the sti motor/turbo.. what cars are you used to/ do you have?

To my knowledge, the 06+ wrx motors have the same components as the 04+ STi. The wiring harness would be the wrx/STi ej257 harness.
