there has been alot of threads on this already, as in the 08/09 pistons screwing up/ need replacing. however in your case this seems very odd. the dealership is being very shady, like always. so i agree you need to fight this with everything you have.

Congratulations.. how, in any way does that contribute to the OP's issue of being denied warranty. Talk about kicking someone when they are down.

The reason I posted this is because is to show that there is good 08 STi out there seems like everytime i get on the forums I always hear some one bashing on the 08 STis. But in regards to the OPs issue i wish him nothing but the best of luck getting his warranty and as for you if you dont like it then bug off!!!!

This post is a testament that illiteracy is still a major problem among adults, even in this day and age.

To the OP -

This issue is a well documented problem throughout the boards, arm yourself with legal counsel as a last resort. Although I may have skipped through, does your VIn match the range that was part of a stop sale? Regardless, the power-train warranty covers the drive train up to 36k miles. This appears to be a defective ej motor since you've properly maintained it without abuse. - Good luck.

Its oil dude..... does it really matter who pours it in the little hole? It is a convenience issue, nothing else.

How is saying that a car, with no mods, with less than 20k miles on it and reported oil changes, with an experienced driver, that blows pistons on a stock tune bashing the 08's? It isn't bashing, it is a fact that engines have been destroyed due to Subaru's incompetence.

Unless they changed the warranty, 36k is bumper to bumper, power train warranty is good until 60k. Regardless the OP falls below both of those and wouldnt be an issue other than the problems mentioned already.

What has been the cause of the carbon build-up problem? Is the engine running too cool? Is the problem in the ECU?
