IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | Hey guys, so I’m finally ready to purchase an STI this weekend, I’ve been interested in the 04-05 as compared to the 03 and even the 06. Any difference in the 04 to the 05? Also I understand you can adjust the transfer case to rear wheel drive. Can you drive long distances in 2wd? Will this do anything in the long run; also can you change from awd to 2wd on the fly and vice versa? Thanks for any advice; I plan to be here for a while. IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2007 Trader Rating: (0) | Are you from another country? I ask cause they didn't offer the STi to North America before 04. There is a list of differences between each year pinned in the newbie/FAQ section. You can adjust the power ratio from front/rear using the DCCD, but you can't make the car 2 wheel drive. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2006 Trader Rating: (7) | diddo on the newbie post. Just to answer some of you question hear. 1: No such thing as an 03' STI. 03' wrx yes STI no. They started here in 04' 2: No you can only bias more power to the rear or front you can not go full rwd. Depending on the rear of the STI depends on how much biasing you can do. Hope this helps. If you are about to buy one of these I suggest you know the car a little more. |

IWSTI Addict since: May 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | i think you should read your manual because the dccd has nothing to do with how much power is to the front and to the back. its called driver controlled center differential for a reason....it controls your center differential or how much your car slips |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2005 Trader Rating: (1) | What by pulling the front axles out? Then somehow fooling the dccd into forgetting about the fron wheels? Yeah sure you can spend tons of money to make it 2wd but I don't think thats whats being asked. No you can't make the STi 2wd with the original equipment |

I don't see why people have to try to be SO techincal on a non-technical question. | |
