Default New guy converting from Porsche's

I own a 1997 911 Carrera, Great car, but it is missing two things; room for four and the surge of a turbo. The car has Bilstein coilovers and adjustable sway bars, but I was still WORKED in a bumpy corner by a blue 2006 or 2007 STI with Cobb modifications (it was in the Inland Empire near Ontario, if anyone knows the owner, I would love to go for a ride in that car!) a couple of months ago. I caught him on a smooth turn, but still was shocked at the way the Sube handled. So......my Porsche is up for sale, and I will be buying a 2005 STI soon. I hope to learn a lot here.

Hey guys. Thanks for the warm welcome. I like the 2004-2005 front end best, and I want to get the newer one, thus, an '05. And I like the 911 Turbos, but they are way out of my price range. So once I sell the Porsche, I will be looking for a silver or grey '05!

I'm sure you will be happy with your trade. I think you'll probably be pleased with the upgrade costs for the STI as well.

Limited 777, I haven't even thought about turbo swaps, yet. I gotta get the car first, and I always like to do suspension work prior to adding engine mods. Peleg...........yes, I got smoked in a bumpy corner. But the next corner was smooth, and I caught back up. The main thing for me is the Sube has far more potential for substantially less $$$. Plus it has a real back seat!

haha sorry had to ask. When I bought my limited i said no more modding cars gotta buy a house. yea that lasted a little while when I was in a relationship I went stage 2 and left it at that. Then over the winter did suspension and then separated and my car was my go to for that haha so she got all the goods out of me being single and having money.

Not sure where ur located by my buddies got a very nice 04 STI for sale in NY that was babyed and garaged with mine. I n ever understood him haha, Stage 2 and never got on it, it was like ridding with gramps some times.

If you like to track your car the 05 is the better one to get btw 04-05. Better front dif, better steering rack, better hubs/ bearings, yaw sensor, auto a/c, etc. But I could be biased

Welcome, a silver 05 seems to be a pretty good choice.

Perfect choice! 05's = the best I'd say if you're on a budget, get sway bars, anti-lift kit, X-brace, and springs. You'll doing pretty good in the handling department after that.
