Default just bought a mechanical boost gauge, now what?

just purchased a stri mechanical boost gauge, now how do i get this thing
up and running?i only have this single gauge and i plan on mounting it
on top of the steering column (where the oem gauge mounts on the wrx's)
i've searched several forums and can't find what i'm looking for. does anyone
have a complete write up with pics? the gauge came with all of the hardware
including the t-fitting, hoses, holder, wiring. thanks

Wow. I can try and help you out but it 1:45am so it will have to be without pictures for now. I took off my factory boost gauge but haven't got a replacement top cover so the holes are still there and I can probably get you a shot of about where they are.

Anyway, mount the gauge on the left side of the steering column, kinda right on the angle. The wire should plug into a small harness that should be under the dash on the drivers side, maybe kinda tucked in over behind the center console area. There's grommet up behind the brake pedal (i think) that you should be able to run the hose through to the engine bay. Then you T in just before the bypass valve and zip tie the tubing out of the way.

I know a picture is worth a thousand words to I'll try to do that for you tomorrow (or maybe somebody else has some they could put up). I've installed a Defi boost gauge but I think I can get some shots to point you in the right direction. Anyway hope this helps a little

Are you using the Subaru OEM cup to mount it? The problem is that the cup only comes as part of the stock gauge boost kit.

Otherwise, you'll need power, illumination, ground, ignition wiring and a hose for the boost readings.

Did the gauge come with instructions or a diagram?

Oh wow, I misread and and thought OP was putting in a OEM gauge.

Yeah, did your new gauge come with a wiring diagram?

I would suggest a Defi pillar mounting kit, it fits the holes of the OEM gauge, either fit the 52mm or 60mm cup depending on your gauge and it should fit perfectly
