Default noobster here!!!!

whats up ladies and genitles

i dont own an sti, yet. however i will be gettin one in the near future prefferably the aspen white with the navi and bbs rim package. i've looked at 08 and 06-07 sti's with low miles. i really like the new sti and i am a sucker for hatches. im currently tearin up the pavement in my 03 si and im lookin to upgrade. looked at the new evos also and the sti took the cake in my heart. any advice or things i should be weary of when buying one of these new sti's?

any links on initial problems that they have are appreciated. problems such as tranny issues sh!t falling apart, you know, that kinda crap.

and also any links on ppl on here that have experience with the cobb access port would be great that'll be my first purchase for the car.

thanks,
mark

Welcome to the site! Lots of great info here! GOod luck on your purchase! If properly modded, and maintained the STi powertrain is bullet proof!

Oh yea, the Cobb AP is my only mod right now, I really think its awesome becuase you can switch between mapping for economy, or performance FFS. Its really a must for every late model STi owner. I also noticed the throttle acceleration, and cruising got smoother after the AP. Powerwise I couldnt tell you, because I put the Cobb on before my car was broken in so I had never gone WOT!

Welcome to IWSTI. We have a dedicated section to the GR chassis (the 08+ STi). I suggest you read the stickies and then start perusing that forum.

You'll find a few vendors who are Subaru-only, but none that are STi-only. Take a look at the vendor section here for some of the best and most friendly folks you will ever meet.
