Default Gauge Question

When I search the forums about Gauges, the majority of the folks seem to prefer the Defi brand which are pretty pricey.
My question is:
Why choose an electrical gauge that is $100-$200 (and then a control unit on top of that??) for one when you can get a mechanical Autometer (boost gauge for example) for around $50 that provides the same info?
I have used the Autometer gauges on my other projects with great results and no problems.

Your gauge cluster is made by defi, so the color match is amazing. Also, the sensors supposedly will last much longer than cheaper brands. Also, you can control the brightness for day light and night time, plus there are many awesome features to log info.

I don't see these gauges worth ~$900. I do agree that they are beautiful, and look have some sweet option. To me gauges are for monitoring and thus need at least a peak maximum, otherwise they are useless to me. Check out Maddad for a less expensive option.
